Hardware

  • Quad Projectors with resolution of WUXGA (19201200) each.
  • 2 x Dell Workstations: Master and Application Node.
    • Intel Xeon Dual Quad-Core
    • 48 GB RAM
    • Nvidia Quadro 6000
  • Tracking.
  • Active Shutter glasses (12 + 52 )
  • 5.1 Surround sound
  • Networking: fibre-optic connections to the Hartee GPFS for file based shareing and computational steering at the file level.

Software

  • OS: Windows 7 Professional x64 for Master node. Application node is dual boot: Win7 and RedHat 6.
  • General purpose visualisation tools:
    • ParaView V4.0.1
      • ParaView allows display of mesh based data such as CFD data, finite element results,etc.
      • Handles structured (uniform rectilinear, non-uniform rectilinear, and curvilinear grids), unstructured, polygonal, image, multi-block and AMR data types.
      • Includes many filters e.g. isosurface, volume visualisation, vector fields, etc.
      • Supports many formats including VTK, EnSight? , Plot3D? , STL and BYU.
      • Supports Quad Buffer stereo.
    • Visit (temporarily removed due to conflicts with ParaView)
  • Molecular visualisation tools
  • MantidPlot 2.0
    • Data analysis package for neutron and muon instruments.
  • Techviz
    • Software for immersive 3D rendering of standard OpenGL (and some DirectX) packages.
  • 3DVia Studio Pro
  • GeoVisionary
  • OpenSceneGraph
  • 3DSlicer
  • SolidEdge ST5
    • SolidEdge? CAD models can be viewed in immersive 3D using the SolidEdge? viewer and the TechViz software
  • Avizo 8.0
