WSRP 1.0 is a Web Service standard from OASIS which means we can "aggregate" fragments from remote portlets into a single portal framework. The main Technical Committee Web site is here: http://www.oasis-open.org/committees/tc_home.php?wg_abbrev=wsrp Some documents I have found useful are:

There is a WSRP discussion group at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/wsrp/

Mark Baker organised the VRE Developers Workshop http://dsg.port.ac.uk/events/workshops/VRE05/ that was held in Portsmouth at the Queens Hotel on 18th and 19th January. More than forty people attended the workshop; material presented at the workshop can be found on the events Web pages. Some of the talks and discussion on the first day focussed on WSRP in both Java and Perl.

We have done a comparison of several open-source WSRP producers and consumers. See http://www.grids.ac.uk/Sakai/papers/cpe_wsrp-test-final.pdf which was summarised at the workshop.

In addition to those producers and consumers tested we are using the Sakai WSRP producer and Xiaobo Yang is writing a WSRP consumer for Sakai. These use WSRP4J and are intended to link with uPortal.

Rob Allan is working on further development of the Perl WSRP producer originally developed by Philip Abramson in the EDINA Go-Geo! portal project. This was presented at the Portsmouth workshop.
